The KOWA brand was one of the first Japanese sourced prismatic `spotting scopes` brands, first appearing I think in the 1950`s. The brand has since then been at the forefront of optical design producing both binoculars and scopes though they are probably better known for their spotting scopes especially in the U.

Very popular with birders, they have consistently been strong sellers due to fine optical ability and good build quality. The latest top KOWA scopes & eyepieces are VERY expensive today!

Here is a great outfit for someone; a rare KOWA TS613 PROMINAR ANGLE BODIED 60mm SPOTTING SCOPE with E. GLASS (extra low dispersion); with FULLY MULTI COATED OPTICS; twinned with an excellent KOWA 20-60x ZOOM EYEPIECE; and.. A green STAY-ON CASE with new black shoul der strap. Plus a n nice lightweight HAMA GAMMA 72 TRIPOD wh ic h has a quick release plate , and a maximum normal working height of 1 53 cm approx.

The TS613 also features a sliding lens hood, a rubberised finish to the hood and around the front of the scope, plus the eyepiece has a rubber fold down eyecup. The eyepiece needs to be held when the zoom is operated as it tends to unscrew from the body quite a common issue with these eyepieces. Both lens caps are present. All of these items are in very good condition but do s h ow some light signs of wear as you would expect, but most importantly the high resolution optics are clear and bright. Defects: some wear/discolouration to the rubberised sections on the scope body almost certainly caused by being kept in the stay on case all its life! Eyepiece can unscrew when zooming if not held in place; possibly just a few internal dust specks and a trace of haze ; the stay on case has some age related wear. I take great care examining, using and describing the binoculars and scopes i sell, and always get a second opinion.
