Manfrotto XPRO500 4 section Aluminium Video Monopod. It is excellent and has never let me down. It is solid as a rock. First the good bits: This is a really well built monopod. It has a real quality feel to all the parts and it is reassuringly heavy. The 4 section extensions all operate smoothly and lock as they should. The feet extend and lock into place as they should.

This monopod has a fluid head at the bottom near the feet which allows for fluid movements when the feet are extended. That works as it should.

The metal tube parts are all in excellent condition as is the rubber grip. Moving to the top - the fluid tilt head works as it should. There is a dial to adjust the drag. All folded up the monopod is around 75cm and fully extended it is around 2m. Now to the niggles - There is a small scratch to one corner of the mounting plate.

You can see it in one of the photos. It is a small silver scratch and bump to the grey paintwork. I'm not convinced the quick release is original.

It doesn't look the same as the photo on the box. It works absolutely fine and I doubt you would have noticed unless I'd mentioned it. Its odd because i have all the QR plates for all my tripods and I don't have one left over so if this isn't the one that came with this monopod I don't know where it has come from!

The worst damage is to the handle. The right hand thread on the fluid head has stripped so you cannot attach the handle on the right hand side. You can attach the handle to the left side. It looks like soft metal.

I don't use the handle as I find it gets in the way. I hold and move the camera body as if not connected to a monopod. The original box is also included but not pictured.
